You're Not Seeing Things... |
You may have noticed on this site or in
these articles that we seem to have two names. In 2007 we
made a
change from Maple Lane Products to Mapletree Farm in order to more
accurately represent both our land and our mission.
In 1981-1982
Dean planted two hundred extra-sweet maple tree "whips" obtained from
the Vermont Forestry Research Lab in Essex Junction, VT. Over
the
years these sugar maples have matured, creating the orchards he had
planned. We chose our new name, Mapletree Farm, to reflect
the fact
that we are a certified Tree Farm specializing in growing sugar maples.
According to our supervising forester, this is the only planted maple
tree
farm in NH. |
